Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2021
Domestic Violence Awareness Month, held in October, encourages all of us to raise awareness about the impact of violence and abuse in our community, honor the heartbreaking lives that have been lost, and recognize the work that remains to be done. Take time to talk with your loved ones, reflect on your own relationships, and learn more about how you can help.
Thank You for Giving Survivors the Power to Thrive
We are grateful for the compassion of our dedicated supporters who joined our Power to Thrive campaign to help domestic violence survivors. From our campaign partners to the individuals who gave generously, every gift made a difference! With your support, we exceeded the incredible challenge match from Joan Waitt, Sharp HealthCare, and an anonymous donor to provide critical services for the families in our care.
Stand Against Racism 2021
Stand Against Racism is an annual campaign to raise awareness and advocate for racial justice in communities across the United States. Structural racism plays a large role in determining the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and affects people’s access to quality housing, education, food, transportation, political power, and other social determinants of health.
MacKenzie Scott Gives Hope to Survivors
We are incredibly honored to be recognized by MacKenzie Scott, author, advocate and philanthropist, with a generous gift to strengthen our programs for domestic violence survivors. In her announcement of extraordinary support for 384 organizations working to provide vital services and alleviate suffering, she writes that our hopes are fed by others. And we certainly agree.
Holiday Campaign 2020
As the holiday season nears, we reflect upon the extraordinary courage of the adult and children survivors who come to us for protection. Home is not safe for everyone — especially now during the pandemic. Violence and abuse are on the rise behind closed doors of stay at home orders, lost jobs, and school shutdowns.
