Dear Friends and Supporters,
We share your concerns for all those who are struggling right now, especially domestic violence victims who are forced to stay at home with their abuser. Trapped in an unsafe environment with tensions escalating, the adults, children and pets in the home are at extreme risk of further life-threatening abuse – and now, they have fewer options to reach out for help.
What can you do to support these frightened and isolated victims? Check in on your neighbors, friends and family to make sure they are safe. Call our 24-hour crisis hotline at 619.234.3164 if someone you know needs help. Or, make a financial donation to support the thousands of victims who come to us for life-saving services each year.
“I learned so much from this program and I felt safe at all times. I became mentally stronger and I learned to cope better in difficult situations. I’m thankful I was able to find YWCA when I felt like there was no hope and I had no options. I will definitely miss the program and the people who helped me and my son throughout this whole process.”
-Nina, recent YWCA Becky’s House® client
We are pleased to share that The David C. Copley Foundation is standing up for survivors with an incredible challenge – they will match all gifts up to $30,000 through May 31, 2020, doubling your impact! Any amount will make a difference so please give what you can.
Since 1908, YWCA has been serving vulnerable families in our community thanks to the generosity of people like you. With your support, we can continue to provide critical domestic violence and homelessness services for the adults and children who come to us for protection, safe housing and renewed hope for a better future, free from violence and abuse.
On behalf of those we serve, we are grateful for your kindness and compassion.
With gratitude,
